2018 will be special. It is only fitting that the followup to last year's 30th Anniversary will feature the first screening of the Bluestown Rising documentary.
Notodden is known as the center of the blues in Norway and the capital of the Blues in Europe. Last year, over 40,000 people came to what is describes as Europe's biggest Blues town party.
Each year, music lovers come from all over Norway, Europe and beyond to an experience described as more of a way of life than just a festival, described by the Memphis-based international Blues Foundation:
"Small clubs burst at the seams, restaurants transform into Mississippi jukes, and alleys sprout stages and sound systems and morph into intimate venues.”
